Breast Self Exams Don't Lower Risk of Breast Cancer Death
Did you know that women who perform regular breast self-exams or get clinical breast exams do not have a lower risk of dying from breast cancer? Mammography screening is the only reliable way to detect breast cancers early, before they have spread. Women ages 50-75 should have a screening mammography exam every two years. Women ages 40-49 should talk with their doctors about whether screening mammography is right for them.
